A yet to be released study of HYPER-DAY and earthquake correlations shows a propensity for earthquakes to happen on or within one to two days either side of a HYPER-DAY. The Haiti quake took place right between the last two HD's in column number 9. According to Tzolkin Dynamics there are days (day=oscillation or vibratory rate of terrestrial masses) when the convergence of simultaneous multi-scale factors result in a flare up of activity in all systems (things).
However, the earthquake hit an area of Haiti where a third of its population of 8 million-plus people live -- Port-au-Prince and vicinity. So, it's really unprecedented. With the high mortality rates, it is hard to imagine one Haitian
